This site is no longer maintained. Lightswitch Owl as a group has spread out across the country. I keep this site up here for reference.

We are a group of filmmakers in Columbia, Missouri, who have been making short movies since the summer of 2003 with the goal of learning the art of filmmaking. We have completed two shorts, and are currently working on two more. With each one we learn more, and hope that by the fourth we will have a short that displays our abilities and potential as filmmakers.

We also do production work for your HD digital video needs. We can do audition tapes, music videos, commercials, or whatever you need us for. We can do everything from writing to directing to editing, or you can just rent our equipment. Give us a call at 573-529-1908.

This website is so that other people can find us and to keep our friends and family updated on our projects. Here you will find more info about us and our projects. We are currently working hard to complete our third and fourth projects and will use this website to keep you updated.

There is also a forum where you can ask questions or just chat about movies. Thank you for visiting!

Richard and Sally will be shown in Springfield, MO during the second week of October. Exact times have not been decided. Ifyou are interested in going, we might even be able to carpool, just give me an e-mail. All of LightSwitch Owl will be going.

We finished Richard and Sally the week of August 13th and had a small premier at our house. We have submitted it to the Cinemerge Film Festival in Springfield, MO in the no-budget short category. We will let you know as soon as we do if it got accepted. I will be posting a small version of it online as soon as I get it encoded, as well as a trailer for our Project 4 - which is at the final stages of production right now. We are also developing our next project, so anyone looking to help should contact me as soon as possible.

Noah's Bowl is now available to rent at 9th street video (downtown, on Cherry and 9th street)! It was easy, we should have done that a long time ago. Thanks to Liz, for putting together the wonderful cover.

Cinemerge was a lot of fun and we even walked out with an award for Best Black and White Short. Which means our movie was mariginally better than the other black and white short. We had some screening issues, but we met a lot of people, learned a lot, and had a great experience.
